Photoshop CC - Type on a Path

This is Mel Wolverson, from IT TrainingFrom the University of MissouriLet's create text on a path in PhotoshopSometimes you need to wrap text around a shape, like you see in this logo. But in Photoshop, it's not quite as obvious as it is in Illustrator. So, let me show you how to do that. To create text on a path in Photoshop, you first need to create either a shape or a path.I'm going to start with an oval as an example.Once you've created the shape, you're going to select your text tool and you'll notice that as you move your cursor towards the line around the shapeyour curson is going to change to the type on a path tool. You then click on the path, and simply start typing. Now, when you start typing, you may notice that the text is not exactly where you want itso if you switch to the darker arrow tool, under the text toolyou can then click on the pathand just drag the text around the shape. If you drag your cursor too close to the center of your shapethen it's going to put the text inside the shape. If you pull it out of the shape, it's going to put it on the outside.Let me do this again, just to show you on a path.because it is slightly differentbut it does work the same at the beginningYou just click on the path with your text tool, regular text tool, and it does type on a path automaticallyIn this case, you see that all of the text does not show at firstSo, I have to go back to the darker arrow tool (selection) and drag the little dot on the line around the pathso all the text is shownand that's all there is to it!Thank you for joining meAgain, this is Mel Wolverson with IT Trainingat the University of Missouri.Click on full playlist to check out our other YouTube videos or, join us at training.missouri.edu to findother recorded material and live classes
